Dr. Albert Fox Haas
Dr. Albert Fox Haas is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. His practice is focused on arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder and joint replacement of the knee, shoulder and hip. He began practicing in Mobile in 1987 in a group practice. He left that practice to establish his own practice in 1991. To better fit the type of practice Dr. Haas was developing, he changed the name to Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine of Mobile, P.C. and has been joined by Dr. Todd Engerson in 1998.

Dr. Haas was bom in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Biology in 1977. Upon completion of medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1981, Dr. Haas performed his internship in Surgery from 1981-1982 and then did his Residency from 1982-1985 in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Affiliated Hospitals in Dallas, Texas. He went on further to do a Hand Surgery Fellowship with Dr. Peter R. Carter in 1986 and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia in 1987. Of his many accomplishments are his instrument designs of the Haas Osteotomy Guide for Closing Wedge Tibial Osteotomy and the Arthrex Offset Guide for Bankart repair.
Dr. Haas is a member of the American Medical Association, Mobile County Medical Society, the Medical Association of Alabama, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Alabama Orthopaedic Society and the Hughston Society.
Dr. Haas is married to the former Anne Rebecca Stokes and has two sons, Fox and William. When not performing surgery or seeing patients in his office, you can find Dr. Haas involved in many community activities; he is currently involved with the "Filter Fighters" campaign as part of "Keep Mobile Beautiful". He enjoys anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his sons.

Dr. Todd D. Engerson
Dr. Todd D. Engerson is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon covering all aspects of orthopaedic care with special expertise and interest in sports medicine, joint replacement and trauma. He joined Dr. Haas at Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine of Mobile, P.C. in 1998.
Dr. Engerson was bom in Kaukauna, Wisconsin in 1961. After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a BS in biology in 1984, Dr. Engerson studied at the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine completing a combined Ph.D. /M.D. program. |

He obtained his Ph.D. in Physiology in 1991 and completed his M.D. in 1993. He went on to an internship in General Surgery/Orthopaedics between 1993-1994 and his residency in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from 1994-1998 at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Engerson is a member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, American Physiological Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Mobile County Medical Society, the Medical Association of Alabama, and the Alabama Orthopaedic Society.
He is married to Lisa and they have three sons, Taylor, Lee and David. When not in a surgical suite or the clinic, Dr. Engerson can be found at his children's sporting events and on rare occasion on the golf course.

Dr. Robert C. Baird, III.
Dr. Baird is an orthopaedic surgeon who sees a variety of orthopaedic problems involving joint replacement, sports medicine, arthroscopy, hand and upper extremity, and foot and ankle. He recently joined Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine after completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. Baird was born in Huntsville, AL in 1975 and has lived his entire life in Alabama. He graduated in 1998 from Birmingham Southern college with a BS in Business Administration (concentration in finance) and a minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, graduating in 2002 with his medical degree.

His interests outside of work primarily involve outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and running. His wife, Taylor, is an elementary teacher locally and they both look forward to long careers in Mobile. |
